Vintage John D. Little 11’ (Corrected) Wooden Sailing Dinghy Sailboat

This retractable centerboard sailing dinghy / dory was designed and built by the noted John D. Little at his Old Lyme workshop, circa  1976. John later established the Mile Creek Boat Shop in Washington, Maine. It measures just under 13’ with the rudder attached and approximately 11’ in length not including the detachable rudder. It and has a beam of approximately 4 1/2’.  The lapstrake construction exhibits the beautiful lines and quality workmanship for which John D. Little boats are known. The previous owner sailed the boat single-handedly into his late seventies on the Connecticut River. The boat has been in dry barn storage for approximately 15 years and is in excellent condition with no notable defects. The boat is tight, there is no rot and the paint and varnish are in good condition. The sail is in good condition with some stains (we did not attempt any cleaning).

Included is a boat trailer, trailer dolly,  oars, and storage cradle. The trailer is in good condition, although it has not been used for many years. The tires are holding air and the trailer should be roadworthy. One of the rear light lenses is broken and should be replaced. The trailer dolly allows the boat to be easily moved by one or two people. Link to auction below.
